10 Days

I have 10 days left until I report to the Provo MTC. I have 8 days left before I actually leave my home for the next 18 months. I have 7 days left before I am set apart as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There have only been a few things in my life that I have been sure of, and this is one of them.

If you read my 30 Days post, you know of the pretty high standards I set for myself. Due to preparations necessary for me to leave, I am readjusting the deadline I had initially set for me to accomplish my goals by. I know I can read everything I aimed to read by November 8th, but I decided not to do this. I really want to read and internalize everything, so for now my priority is to finish reading the Book of Mormon by my report date. I will finish reading everything else on my own time during personal study. As for German... well I have been learning how to pray in German. It is something I am loving. I actually said my first prayer in German w…

Being Just Enough

You can't do wrong and feel right -Ezra Taft Benson  I love this quote so much I just had to share it! There is only so far that you can go living in darkness until you truly recognize you aren't happy straying away from God's light.

Hello readers, I don't know if it's the changing of seasons or simply the amount of days before I leave getting smaller that's brought a change in me... but I am loving every bit of it. What used to be fear for my upcoming journey to Germany is now replaced with love and eagerness to get out and begin my life as a sister missionary.

As I have been gradually increasing the amount of time I read and ponder the scriptures, I have gained happiness. There is a tender spirit of love and peace that comes when you devote time to reading the Book of Mormon daily.  If you haven't read it, I challenge you to do so. I promise that as you read it, you too will feel the love and peace I speak of.

I have been cleaning out my emails and as a r…

30 Days

I cannot believe how fast time is passing by. It feels like just yesterday I was opening my mission call. There are a lot of things running through my mind, and all of my thoughts are so scattered I don't even know where to begin.

I have 30 days left before I enter the Missionary Training Center in Utah and I am in a happy yet utterly terrified panic mode. I keep repeating to myself 'Where did the time go?' and then I realize I need to stop admiring how fast time is passing by... and instead, I need to start acting.

To Do 1. Finish studying the Book of Mormon, and finish highlighting the testaments of Christ and the word/doctrine/principles of God.  2. Read Jesus the Christ, thefront cover to the back cover.  3. Study Chapter 3 in Preach my Gospel. 4. Learn how to pray in German, and start praying in German. 5. Read all of the New Testament so I can at least say I have read it once.  6. Learn as much German: Vocabulary, verb tenses, …

Let Hope Prevail

To my dearest readers, whoever you may be:

With all of the recent events that have been occurring throughout the country and world, I am left with a sorrowful heart. I feel for those individuals and families who have lost everything-- whatever form that may take. I know what a form of loss is like, and it is not fun. My prayers go out to everyone who has been affected by the recent events.

In times like these, we tend to turn our back on faith out of carnal emotions like anger. It is quite simple to feel abandoned and unloved by God, but I promise you that we have not been abandoned. I promise you that God lives and that He loves you.

I came across a General Conference talk given by Dieter F. Uchtdorf in April of 2016. For those who do not know, General Conference is a time set apart to hear from a living prophet, living apostles, and general church leaders speak. General Conference happens twice a year; in fact, it just happened this past weekend. I invite you to view general conferen…
